The pinnacle of the footballing calendar. Every four years, the 32 best national teams in the world get together for four weeks of merciless and patriotic action, before everyone realises Brazil are going to win again.
England tend to successfully choke at around the quarter final stage, allowing papers like The Sun to undermine professional sporting stars for the next three and a half years. However, in 1966, England got their choking all wrong and accidentally won the thing. Though most English fans like to keep this fact quiet.
There is also a less exciting Cricket World Cup, and the baseball World Series.
