Overview
Wapping was the location of the invention of internet-enabled mobile phones, hence the phrase "to wap". It is also a hotbed of Cockney Rhyming Slang.
97% of Wapping is out-of-bounds to anybody, unless they have bought one of the hugely expensive flats that populate the area so relentlessly.
Things to do near Wapping
Buy a flat.
If you're not a squillionare, go for a drink at the excellently named Prospect of Whitby pub. This proved to be the highlight of Friki's rather disappointing trip along the East London line, as it was the only establishment it visited that was both clean and not full of gippers.
Alternatively, you could scout around for the much-rumoured Paedo Room, which may well be located near a local primary school, which looks rather incongruous in the middle of all the swanky flats.
Friki Verdict
Four Celtic Crosses out of five for Wapping. Let down by the two-tier society it clearly favours.
