The Slug and Lettuce
From Frikipedia
Large gastropub conglomorate. A Wetherspoons for people who think they're better than everyone else.
Despite the rather questionable name, they tend to provide a quality range of food, as you would expect for a gastropub. This always costs around fifteen times more than you would probably have wanted to pay for a cold plate of sauteed something with a thingy jous in a free market situation, as you would expect for a gastropub.
Despite the obvious link between him and overpriced pretentious pubs, there is no evidence that Television's Alan Davies has ever been on a date in a Slug and Lettuce. As he is generally becoming Friki's acid test when it comes to deciding on a good date venue, Friki is happy to follow suit.
Good Slug and Lettuces are
- London Bridge, London - Showed the World Cup.
Bad Slug and Lettuces are
- Nottingham - Always full of Butterfaces in trouser suits discussing work over a plate of salad and a garish cocktail.
