Pub offering the only human contact available in Shadwell. At least, the only human contact that isn't a merciless beating from the locals.

The Hungerford Arms is frequented by some charming Aussie folk, who were being charming because their country was busy winning all the cricket that was available that day. So for "charming", read "smug".

Should you want to avoid the smug brigade, the pool table is nicely out the way. The main drawback of this is that the table (only 40% the size of a normal pool table) is positioned in the main thoroughfare through to both sets of toilets. This leads to you having your cue knocked by passers-by whilst it is your go, and also leads to you accidentally standing by the doors to the ladies when it isn't your go, making you look like a weirdo.

Decor Watch

The Hungerford Arms is decorated with numerous disturbing pictures of dog heads superimposed on human bodies. There's a soldier dog, an admiral dog, and many others. Each one more disturbing than the last.
