The Angel in the Fields
From Frikipedia
Improbable watering hole near Baker Street. Frikipedia would love to be more specific about the location but cannot, as it visited the Angel after a day of drinking in nearby Regent's Park, during which a pair of flipflops were destroyed, a frisbee was lost in the lake, and Frikipedia was hit by an Inappropriate Football.
Anyway. The Angel in the Fields is a Samuel Adams pub of distinction, and captures the feel of a provincial local despite being in the bustling heart of London. The excellent, if unimaginitively-named ("Bitter", "Best", "Lager") beers are modestly-priced, and, if asked, the bemused barman will draw a 'shamrock' that looks like a penis in the top for no extra charge. (The Angel is not an Irish pub, nor was the barman Irish, nor the drink. Hence the bemusement.)
The best features of the Angel, however, are the regulars. Congealing around the bar like a flock of be-mulletted seagulls, they wait to pounce on the fruit machine the instant it is left alone by other hapless punters, and invariably clean up. This elicits loud whooping, and for some reason, the occasional impromptu arm-wrestling contest. During one such clash, Frikipedia, doing its best to look neutral at the bar, was co-opted to act as referee. Friki is happy to report that it was a clean, fair fight, but did involve rather more sweating and grunting than it was comfortable with.
This sort of behaviour is to be expected in The Huntsman, so Friki felt right at home.
