Overview

Bastions for all that is good in the world, slick tyres were used on Formula One cars during the glory years.

Purpose

The purpose of slick tyres is not always the same, when they're being utilised by F1 cars people tend to forget about them and moan about the run off areas inability to dance. However, when slick tyres are disallowed in F1, replaced by their mortal enemy Grooved Tyres, their lack of presence creates a firestorm of hatred for the poor sod tasked with bringing two hours of joy every second Sunday to hundreds of millions of people who can't find satisfaction within their own dull lives.

Those who point out that slicks weren't used for the first 20, most glorious, years of Formula 1 are often found dead in an alleyway the next morning, seemingly beaten to death with a VHS tape containing a 3 minute clip of some strange happenings that took place at Dijon in 1979.
