The procedure of accelerating towards a stop sign only to slam the brakes to the floor for approximately half a second, and then coasting through the intersection at a minimum speed of 40 km/h.

Woe betide the poor English tourist who assumes the bus at the intersection will heed the red octagon, as he shall be met with an untimely and unfortunate end.
