Things to do near Oval
Go and watch some cricket at The Oval. Either an epic England choke, or a slightly less epic (and usually quite soggy) game involving the home team, the delightfully named Surrey Brown Caps.
Alternatively, you can hire the nets at quite a competitive rate to practise your own gentle off-spin and cover drives, and occasionally get starstruck when Mark Ramprakash turns up for half-an-hours batting practice in the lane next to you.
Pub-wise, the nearest one to the station is The Hanover Arms, but it's horrible.
