Overview

Station on the Northern Line.

The local council believe in the rarely stated truism that "Morden is not just a place, it's a state of mind".

And what a state it is.

Morden exists solely in order to provide the Northern Line with a southern terminus, lest all southbound trains would continue on until crashing into the Channel, with bebby consequences.

Things to do in Morden

It is no coincidence that Morden rhymes with "boredom". Sort of, if you squint a bit. When not playing squinty rhyming games, the residents of Morden desperately try and choose which station to leave from, being as there are around 65 within a 500 yard radius of each other. The slow, blind and witless fail to make a decision and are forced to stay in Morden forever.

The poor souls then have the chance to drown their sorrows in The Crown, make an appeal for rescue by the often closed (and oddly titled) Morden Police Office, or buy some carpet from the excellently named What's On The Floor?, which has moved into the 21st century by setting up a website, but remained in the 20th by forgetting to actually put anything on it.

Friki Verdict

One Celtic Cross for Morden. Largely thanks to the lasting humour of "WOTF?"
