Mojito
From Frikipedia
Pronounced Moh-hee-to. Unless from Essex, in which case pronounced Mu-jee-ah.
Type of cocktail, insanely popular despite being made from some of the least complimentary ingredients in the history of alcohol abuse.
Ingredients
- Crushed ice - Either ready-crushed, or made using plastic ice-crusher from Argos, designed to last 30 seconds before splintering into a thousand pieces as plastic meets hard ice.
- Chopped mint - If none is available, dissolve a Polo.
- Brown sugar - For that crunchy, teeth-rottening sweetness.
- Rum - Lashings thereof.
- Lime - To counter-balance the sugar. See also: Corona
- Soda water - Optional. Depending on whether or not you want to take the edge off your sugary rum.
Friki went through a period of trying to craft the "perfect mojito". It succeeded one lost weekend in mid-2007, using said Argos ice crusher, an improvised pestle and mortar, a large chopping board, an iron and the sensory-deadening effects of half a bottle of rum.
Having tasted perfection, Friki has largely gone off mojitos lately. But is occasionally tempted by the exotic-sounding delights of Wetherspoons Mojito Mix (TM).
