Heikki Kovalainen
From Frikipedia
Heikki Kovalainen is the latest in a proud line of blond Finnish F1 drivers, following in the illustrious footsteps of Mika Hakkinen and the slightly less illustrious footsteps of The Gin. Heikki is in the Guinness Book of Records for having the longest distance between his eyeline and his hairline of any human being, narrowly beating Ant from Ant and Dec.
In Heikki's early years, he had a walk-on part in the film Coneheads, allowing the producers to save money as he didn't require any prosthetics. After that though, his film career failed to take off and he switched to motor racing.
Having finished second in the 2005 GP2 Championship (losing out to Nico Rosberg, largely because all the competitors were too scared of getting close to Nico, in case he crashed into them), he got a job testing for the Renault F1 team, a job which allowed him to get used to the car and the team, and should have stood him in good stead to win a few Grands Prix in 2007.
The year so far
After one event, it would appear that Heikki's year of testing has led him to know exactly where the limits of the car are, and how much effort it will take to drive over those limits and spin.
Records
Holds the record for longest time spent in a GP without hitting the racing line or a barrier. He accomplished this amazing feat at the '07 Australian GP where he spent a total of 57.9 laps on the grass or in the gravel. Record was previously held by Michael Schumacher for his efforts at Spa 1995, much to the chagrin of that guy that keeps appearing in the news.
Friki Facts
- If performances don't improve, he could be shuffled into the head chef role at Renault F1.
- Gets more attention walking down the street than Lewis Hamilton...no one knows he's an F1 driver though.
