"So Jose, how did you think the first half went? Jose? Jose...? COME BACK, JOSE!"
"So Jose, how did you think the first half went? Jose? Jose...? COME BACK, JOSE!"

Top BBC football man. Usually called upon to conduct the hard-hitting post-match interviews in order to extract meaningful insight from managers and players on Match of the Day.

Garth has a singularly odd manner of asking questions, which revolves him lapsing into cliches and hyperbole and usually ending up answering his own question before he's even reached the end of the question itself. Also tends to speak with an alarming level of intensity not really befitting the post-match annals of Watford v Charlton.

Occasionally lulls a manager into a false sense of security with his oddness, possibly the manager comes to believe that there is no way the BBC can possibly keep the interview in their show because of its total and alarming lack of any worth. At this point the manager may actually say something interesting, perhaps a diatribe against his misfiring striker, or a slur against his chairman's family. This usually results in a boom in media coverage, an extended contract for Garth, and will virtually ensure that the manager will never speak to the BBC ever again.

Garth possesses the world's only perfectly spherical head.
