Garden Ladder
From Frikipedia
Small-scale Pub in Harringay. Has gastropub pretensions, but hasn't got the heart to charge gastropub prices, which is nice.
Not a place for an extended binging session, though it is frequented by plenty of lesbians, but the Garden Ladder (so named because of the ladder that extends up from one of the tables, possibly leading to Narnia) is a perfect place for a nice meal and a pint. Friki recommends the Beef Bourguignon, or checking out the specials board for interesting meats. Friki's favourite was the delicious "rabbit saddle" it had a few months back, which was as delicious as it was the spark for discussions about rabbit racing, featuring tiny jockeys atop said saddle.
The Sunday roast is quality as well, and is a proper "serve yourself" buffet effort. The veg outweighs the meat by some way, but the landlord helps to balance it out by constantly popping over to make himself a cauliflower cheese-filled Yorkshire pudding snack to eat at the bar.
Located on Green Lanes, opposite the altogether smellier Salisbury.
