Früli

Früli is a strawberry beer, so it tastes like an alcoholic smoothie. Which is nice. Greatest foodstuff (or drinkstuff) known to humanity. Used to be located in most good branches of Wetherspoons, however can now only reliably be found at Sandanista in Leeds.

Früli has also been discovered in Tesco, priced at £1.03 a bottle, far better value than Font Bar in Manchester which charged a rather steep £3 for a bottle, but every drop was worth it.

  • During a recent visit to the Bierodrome, Friki was delighted/appalled (delete as appropriate) to discover that Früli is also available in coconut and banana varieties.

Früli in the USA

Friki's search for Früli in New York City has so far been fruitless (geddit?). Friki learns that Früli has been sold under the moniker "Frubee" in the USA (presumably to make it sound more like a drink suitable for children). A recent search of Beer Menus suggested that Früli/Frubee could be located at two locations in Manhattan: Peculier Pub and Croxley Ales. However, a humid July evening at both locations yielded none of the fruity goodness Friki longed-for, and a stern update was made to beermenus.com accordingly.

The search continues for a New York City bar selling Früli... Friki hears rumours that there may be a wholesaler stocking our beloved beverage somewhere in the Bronx. :-s

Update: Friki is concerned to hear that at least one New York wholesaler has discontinued Frubee. The horror!. Hopefully this is an isolated incident of Frubee-shunnage.
