Popularised by adverts featuring Tony the Tiger playing sports with kids. Presumably to help them work of the excess fat they put on eating a bowl of his sugar coated cereal for breakfast that morning.

Frikipedia wouldn't let its kids near a large tiger. Cartoon or otherwise.
