To Play
You will need:
- 1 x cricket bat. Possibly covered in lipstick.
- At least 2 players. Fielders optional.
- A variety of fruit, meat and bread.
Rules
The batsman holds the bat in a batting arena (for added danger, make the batting arena near a wasp nest).
The bowler stands behind a table covered in bits of food and bowls various objects from the table at the batsman, who has to hit the item as far as he/she can. Runs are scored by getting the item on the roof of the house or by successfully smashing item into little pieces.
Examples of Ball
The following are all useful "balls" to be used in Food Cricket:
- A Sausage
- A neatly sliced melon
- An apple (good for smashing)
- Tiny bits of pineapple
- Garlic bread
- For the advanced food cricketer, slightly melted ice cream
The End
The game reaches a denoument when all available bits of food are on the roof/in your neighbours garden.
The players then retreat to the pub to avoid the angered response when said neighbour finds half a fruit salad and a congealed sausage littering their lawn.
