Charing Cross

Frikipedia Rating:

Three and a half Celtic Cross(es)

Nearby Pub:

Gordon's

Tube stop on the Bakerloo Line. Also big transport hub for proper trains, therefore making it commuttery hell during rush hour.

Overview

Traditionally deemed the midpoint of London, due to something some King or other decided ages ago. Still somewhere near the centre, and still as good a place as any to arbitrarily deem to be the centre.

Things To Do Near Charing Cross

Trip up angry commuters.

Alternatively, anything you wanted to do near Embankment, seeing as the two stations are pretty much next to each other. So drink at the Queen Mary, Gordon's, The Coal Hole or Champagne Charlies. Actually, don't do that last one.

The tube journey from Embankment to Charing Cross is officially the laziest on the entire network (slightly ahead of Leicester Square to Covent Garden on the Piccadilly Line and the two stops on the DLR at the Quarf).

Friki Verdict

Friki gives Charing Cross 3 1/2 Celtic Crosses out of five. But doesn't know why.
