Catchphrase (Quizzie Game)

Brand new for 2007, Friki discovered this finger-bashing homage to its favourite game show whilst in the Stepney Green Wetherspoons branch.

Disappointingly features very few actual catchphrases to guess (and Mr Chips appears to have toddled off to the big BBC Micro screen in the sky), but Roy Walker is there in all his glory.

The Purpose of Sand

Whilst playing this game, Friki was approached by a man who worked for the ItBox company (he had a polo shirt with the logo on and everything) who, according to Friki's lager inhibited hearing, announced that he needed to "Put the sand in".

A brief discussion at the bar ensued, where Friki debated whether 'sand' was some kind of street slang for money. It was only after Friki returned to the quizzie after the man had finished, to find Roy Walker screaming louder than before from the screen, that Friki realised he probably meant "put the sound on".

Friki's embarrasment was only tempered by the fact that this man is employed to tour round pubs in East London on a Friday night, unmuting quiz machines for the dubious benefit of the lairy, Lynx-sodden clientele.

Truly, wanking for coins.

Friki Verdict

Given the lack of catchphrases, and the high amount of stupid questions about history, Friki has to say that Catchphrase is good, but its not the one.
