Buskers are essentially tramps who give a shit. So rather than wasting their life on the streets coming up with baffling stories and reasons as to why they need your money (as opposed to "I need more skag"), they have bothered to learn a trade. Some buskers have guitars, some have keyboards, and one man who frequents Bank Station in London has even managed to perfect the harp.

Frikipedia is in favour of giving loose change to buskers. They make an effort.
