Bars differ from pubs in a number of crucial ways.

- Bars rarely have a quizzie, pool table or dartboard.
- Bars always have the lights turned down low. Maybe they need to keep the electricity bills down.
- Rather than stools and wooden chairs, bars tend to offer sofas.
- Bars tend to stay open later than pubs, allowing your alcohol abuse to continue for longer.
