Balthazar
From Frikipedia
Awesome bistro-cum-bakery in a quite cool bit of New York.
Friki had:
- Frisee aux lardons (basically, egg & bacon salad. Awesome.)
- Goat cheese and onion tart.
- Monkfish (wrapped in bacon, which makes anything good.)
- Duck confit (cooked in it's own fat, just like Friki on the beach.)
In summary, very tasty, not massively expensive, and with good bread. Probably about four celtic crosses. Prepare to be warned that the restaurant has a 4-hour wait, but that the cafe (identical in every way, and indeed, in the same room) can seat you immediately. Prepare also to be seated next to people eating snails and complaining that they only got five.
